Free Museum Day

Once a year, Montrealers get a free museum day. You can visit any museum in Montreal for free! They even offer free buses to take you from place to place! Yesterday, went for a short walk near home, and visited The Fur Trade at Lachine National Historic Site of Canada - a very small museum near my home - but a beautiful beautiful old house!

Love that house--the stonework, and the way the red trim on the windows pop--what a great place!

What a treat! I wonder if they have something like that in Maine. I love the textures of this old building, and the red of the window casings is just icing on the cake.
