Biking in Winter?

Yup - some people do! I don't know how they do it will all the snow we get, but some brave souls do take their bikes to get from Point A to Point B!
This bike stand is right beside the Angrignon metro (which is part of the Montreal subway system). Interesting architecture...

Wow they are brave! Great shots. And yes making the 100 calorie packs ourselves saves a lot of money!

Not for me thanks. :-) I have spoken with vendors in the NE that ride their bikes to work even in the snow and it makes me shiver just thinking about it. Those are pretty impressive lockups however I see a seat is missing. The bike shop recommended I get a cable lock for mine (which I did) as seats come off so easily. Sorry to see tagging isn't just an American thing. Your pictures are beautiful as usual.

I don't think I'd be one of those brave people on bikes in the winter! I love the bright red on the metro station.

Wow that is brave. But if you have to get from a to B and don't have any other wasy you do what you have to do.

Those are both very cool! I really like the second one, the red stands out and the architecture reminds me of the Netherlands!

We bike in the snow here, in fact I see it all the time.

Those are some serious bike racks. I had a friend in high school who used to ride even when it snowed. I consider her crazy b/c she had other options.

My neighbor rides in the winter. Granted, we aren't as cold as Quebec, but it's not warm here, either.
Takes dedication and some guts. I really like the first picture.

Love this! I too wonder how they can bike with that much snow.

OMG...that's funny! I'd have to have spikes in my tires to get anywhere on a bike in the snow! All I can think about on this is how much more of a workout it would be in the snow!! OUCH!

Wow! I couldn't ride in the snow. Love the second photo with all the red. Nice captures.

Those snow bikers have to have calves of steel!! That station has a lot of interesting angles/curves in it, too.

I have a friend that rides his bike in the winter. Crazy if you ask me. Nice shot of the bikes and great building.

We had about a foot of snow a couple of weeks ago. I was astounded to see people riding their bikes to work in it! I guess hard core bikers will pedal through anything?

Just makes me cold thinking about it! Cool shot.

I love the bright red against the white snow. My son tries to bike as much as possible in Minneapolis and he just asked for a heavy duty face mask type thing that helps warm the air that he breathes as he rides. I couldn't do this!
