Holiday Fudge

Of course Christmas = baking season!! So all weekend last weekend, I baked and baked and baked!

Made fudge - so easy, wonder why I didn't make any sooner!

Made little care packages that I brought for my friendly coworkers today.

Made few changes to this recipe - added some candy canes to one batch and some fleur de sel in the other batch.

I'm not really a lover of fudge (gasp!) but those candy canes make it look so cheery!

Homemade fudge - yummy! I'm leaving it to my mother-in-law this year and limiting the amount of sweets in the house, that way we sample some, and leave the rest. I like the festiveness the candy canes adds to the fudge.

I have never attempted to make fudge, although I have eaten about 2000 pounds of it in my lifetime :) The candycanes make it so Christmasy!

Ahh . . . fudge! I love it! I like the crushed candy canes you added. I bet it added a little texture to the creamy candy.

Mmmm....I'll have to try the candy cane idea in my fudge next year! Speaking as a non-cook---what is fleur de sel?

Looks like yum! Janett, I'm not really a big fudge person either, but if that's the chocolate that there is...well..y'know...

Pat, Fleur de sel is a hand-harvested sea salt collected by workers who scrape only the top layer of salt before it sinks to the bottom of large salt pans. (from Wikipedia!)It is very delicate tasting - was my first time buying the stuff! :)

One of my daughter's favorite things! Looks like another winner to add to my baking list!
